UK brand, inov-8 have provided high quality run shoes for the trail, fell and mountain runner and in June this year, they celebrated a tenth anniversary with the launch of a new apparel range and a team to take Skyrunning by storm.

It is a passion of mine anyway but all the high profile athletes are at these races and as a brand we need to be involved. So, it made sense. I set up an International Skyrunning Team with runners from Australia, America, UK and France. Hopefully we are going to make an impact.

And an impact they have made. As the 2013 Skyrunner® World Series comes to a close at Limone Extreme, Lake Garda, Natalie will be able to look back and be satisfied with the impact made in the first full season.

Heading an all-star cast, American Alex Nichols and Briton Anna Lupton are both currently placed 4th and 6th respectively overall in the Sky Series. Limone, will be an exciting race for both. Alex will be looking to move up at least one place and make the podium, however, he is 32-points in arrears with an unreachable Luis Alberto Hernando and Kilian Jornet holding 1st and 2nd places.

Anna Lupton however is level with Ragna Debats on 136 points in joint 6th-place, Celine Lafaye is 5th with 138 points and Nuria Dominguez 4th with 140-points. Anna, will have that 4th place in her mind. To achieve the podium, Anna would need an overall victory and Silvia Serafini not to finish.

Breaking tradition, inov-8 added Erik to the team mid season. Currently he is 24th in the Sky Series but as he said after Matterhorn Ultraks, ‘this year is all about learning.’ He will however be a strong force in Limone and the shorter distance will suit his speed and skill levels both in the Vertical and Sky races.

Austrian David Schneider is making a first time appearance for inov-8 at Limone Extreme and it shows how as a brand, inov-8 are looking to the future. They are already committed to a 2014 season and they are laying the foundation now. David is an accomplished runner and comes from a strong orienteering background. He attracted the attention of inov-8 with an 11th overall at the highly respected Sierre-Zinal race in earlier this year. Limone will be a great initiation into skyrunning and the technicality it brings.

inov-8 lines up a star cast at the Skyrunner® World Series finals in Limone.  Follow all the action on Facebook and twitter for live coverage and updates.
