(C) Jordi SaragossaKilian Jornet didn’t disappoint today on the fabulous Kima course in the Italian Alps.  With 3,800m vertical climb over seven passes, the Kima Trophy perfectly embodies the skyrunning concept.  Jornet’s winning time was 6h28'52".  Second, Tom Owens in 6h39'28" and third, Italy’s Franco Sancassani in 6h45'39". All eyes will be on Kilian Jornet at Sunday’s Pikes Peak Marathon after his controversial win at the Speedgoat 50k in July.  Recent interviews with the skyrunning star underline the difference in both style and terrain between European racing and American trail running

Without sparring partner Kilian Jornet he still has plenty of competition coming from Britain’s Tom Owens, Spaniards Luis Alberto Hernando and Tofol Castanyer as well as Portugal’s Cesar Costa, second last year, together with a host of super-strong contenders from various countries
