SCOTT Sports at Limone Extreme |
A dynamic trio of three SCOTT Sports athletes will toe the line at the conclusion of the 2014 Skyrunner® World Series in the stunning location of Limone on the banks of Lake Garda. SCOTT Sports supporting the Skyrunner® World Series for the first time has had an incredible year. Elisa Desco has been a shining light within the team performing at the highest level, race after race. Earlier this year, Desco was crowned Skyrunning World Champion in Chamonix, the home of mountain sports. In Limone, Desco will once again line up against Stevie Kremer, Emelie Forsberg and Maite Maiora looking to gain the advantage she found in France. Without doubt, finishing the year with her in head in the SKY is a major objective! Skyrunning legend, Marco De Gasperi has had a tough year fighting injury. However, the 2012 Limone Extreme winner and course record holder is back. Lining up against one of the strongest fields ever assembled in a Sky race, De Gasperi will have a battle royal on is hands. Especially against his old sparring partner, Kilian Jornet. De Gasperi and Jornet have traded blows on mountain courses all over the world, the opportunity once again to see these two go head-to-head is whetting the appetites of mountain running fans all over the world.
Alexis Sevennec placed 5th at the Dolomites SkyRace® earlier this year and will be looking o carry over his skill set and form to the slopes of Limone Extreme. At just under 24km in length and with 2000m +/- elevation, this course will suit Sevennec’s running ability and although the podium may be out of reach, a top-10 placing is a distinct possibility. Limone Extreme is the final event in the 2014 Skyrunner® World Series. It has been an incredible year full of excitement, surprises, joy and of course heartbreak. Skyrunning continues to grow and this is reflected not only in global support through media channels but also in race entries. Limone Extreme has doubled entries in just 12-months! As this season draws to a close, attention turns to 2015 and the exciting opportunities that await, not only in the mountains but also the SKY. |
