It’s been a busy week on the international skyrunning calendar with the African Championships making the news in the Southern Hemisphere on July 26, with a Sky and an Ultra contested on the island of Mauritius.

The Extreme Dodo Trail (50km with 3,500m elevation gain) and the Ti Dodo Trail (25km with 1,500m elevation gain) represented the events hosting the championship in a magnificent mountainous arena, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, situated 2,000 km East of the African Continent.

Skyrunning African Championship medals for the two distances went to Republic of South Africa (2 gold), Reunion (1 gold, 3 silver), Mauritius (1 gold, 2 silver, 3 bronze).
